Have not bought any Arkham yet...

I have been holding out buying either game so far.  Mostly because I now refuse to spend the upwards of $60.00 for any game anymore. I am contemplating buying Arkham Asylum, if I find it in the used bin for around $15.00-$20.00.

Arkham City, will not be in this price point for a while, I understand that.  My question would be though; is Arkham Asylum worth picking up, or should I just skip to City?

Re: Have not bought any Arkham yet...

Both are good games, but I preferred Arkham Asylum myself to City. Batman: Arkham City feels too much like the first game. There's bunches of more Riddler puzzles to solve and there's a good story to pull its weight, but the game ends up being too samey to praise it above the originator.

I literally only got the games this week, and I've been enjoying them immensely. I'd go for it if I were you! Asylum has an awesome story arc and a truly unique feeling, whereas City gives you a lot of freedom and tons of replay value. Honestly, they're both terrific, in their own ways. If you're into the genre, then you shouldn't miss out on the games.

Re: Have not bought any Arkham yet...

Bro, if you're spending $60 on this game you're paying too much. You're currently connected to the "internet", and if you use it correctly you can save yourself a ton of money. Like so...

Arkham City Game Of The Year Edition PS3 $41.42

Batman Arkham City Standard Edtion $19.99.

Also check out the Amazon Marketplace, and you might save yourself even more money. But make no mistake, this is an AWESOME game no matter what you pay for it. Arkham Asylum is an excellent game in it's own right as well.

Re: Have not bought any Arkham yet...

I actually just bought Arkham Asylum. I did find a glitch in the camera. I am really not sure what happened. I could not recreate the problem and it was not a big deal. After playing the game, I realize why this game won a Game of the Year award. One word, great, and I am sure that Arkham City is just as good of not better. I do suggest getting the Game of The Year editions. There are no redeem codes so it can be bought used and still have all of the bonus content. I can't wait for a game like Arkham City but set in Gotham. It would be awesome if we get the chance to tear up the streets of Gotham in the Batmobile. Arkham Asylum needs to be played before Arkham City to understand the story-line.

If you got anything from me, it's to find your thing and do you.

Re: Have not bought any Arkham yet...

As others have mentioned, both games are incredible. You don't have to be a Batman fan to appreciate the game play and story. If you are a fan, then you'll appreciate the attention to detail that Paul Dini put into writing this game. Highly recommend that both titles find a place in your library.
