Troubleshooting for Flashing Blue Light- No Display

[ Edited ]
Nov 16, 2013

Flashing Blue

No picture being displayed, No sound, You are not able to enter safe mode by turning the ps4 on and holding for 10 secs. It may beep once and shut off.

If you don't have these symptoms than you have a different problem.

Check your hdmi Pins and bend the pin back. It should look like this.

http://http://blog.outletpc.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/hdmi-port-type-a.jpg

Have you checked the HDMI port?

Have you swapped the HDMI Cables?

Can you boot into safe mode?

Do you hear 2 beeps after holding the power button or just one and the ps4 shuts off?

Where you ever able to boot?

If so what did you do up until it happened?

Did you try pulling the Hard Drive and Booting. Replacing the hard drive and booting?

Please answer these questions and post any ideas to find a solution.

ATM our only option seems to be return the ps4 to sony or the place of purchase.

Wait times with sony customer support is 2-4hours. They will ask you to do the same as above^ and if it doesn't work they will send you a box within 5-7 days. Repairs will take 2-3 weeks.  You MIGHT have receive a new or refurbished system before New Year.

 Possible Causes

?hardware malfunction?

?Corrupt bios?

I have the same problem

Checked the HDMI Port

Tried different cable.

Cannot boot to safe mode

Do not hear 2 beeps, just one and it shuts off

Nope.

Tried pulling the harddrive, no dice.

I've had this happen on 2 PS4s now.

Try a different TV or verify your HDMI ports are working with other devices.

I have the same issue. Just Blue lights. Tried everything, can't do **bleep**. I called the PS support, and waited for more than 90 min now, still in the line. So disappointed. If they are telling me that I have to wait for weeks to get this problem fixed, I will just return it. I am out.

This is most likely a hardware issue. i can't really tell without voiding my warranty and opening the ps4 up.

Anyone try replacing the hard drive or reformatting it using a PC? At least that way we could eliminate software entirely.

Perhaps a corrupt bios?
