Re: Troubleshooting for Flashing Blue Light- No Display

Nov 16, 2013

After I installed the 1.50 patch, I had no picture.  I held my finger on the power sensor and it shut off. I unplugged everything for about ten seconds and reconnected. Powered back on and I had picture.  But the system stated that 1.50 was ready to install. I'm not installing it again because of what happened. Anyone else have this issue?

Syrix.

I had this. Go to your settings, than system settings and see if the firmware version is 1.5.

It was for me. If not than boot into safe mode and try to update from a usb drive. google ps4 update for step by step intro.

I can't boot into safe mode with mine. Just pulsing blue over and over. HDMI port is fine. HDMI cable works. TV supports 1080p.

This is a real embarassment considering that my launch day PSX, PS2 and PS3 all still work flawlessly.

I mean I am still able to get on and mess around. I played a short round on bf4. I'm not in a big hurry to play it much right now. I'm just wondering I wait for the next patch, if I will be ok.

If you can't boot into safe mode, than theres not much we can do at this point. It's most likely a hardware issue.

This would be so easy to fix If I could just open it up like a PC.

Re: PS4 PROBLEM(Blue light, HDMI): hongfujin yantai china september 2013

Nov 16, 2013

My friend, I have been having the blue light issue, and my console was indeed manufactured in Hongfujin Yantai. I've been incredibly frustrated by the situation, as tech support is totally slammed today, and I was waiting on the phone for about 45 minutes before I gave up. it may have been longer, as I lost track of time... I've been reviewing games for a while, and have been providing creating youtube videos. I was hoping to have some good news for my subscribers, but it seems as if I won't have much good to say. Thankfully, I've been able to continually hard restart the system to get my PS4 to work for a little while. What I've played so far has been phenomenal. I LOVE Killzone Shadowfall, and I'm playing Warframe right now. I just hope this is actually more of a software issue than a hardware one, and can be fixed soon.
