the concept was fun but it was on too small of a scale. It was difficult to find Templars at all, and then it seemed everyone was gunning for them.
I would have liked if the Templars had had incentive to squad with each other, that way we could have been guaranteed 6 at a time. Most of them ignored the NPC corp that they were planted in, in favor of running with their main character corps. So one Templar would be surrounded by many non-templar protos, which doesn't actually favor those players at all.
I think in the future, there should be a list of permanent NPC gangs or corps or causes you can join, in order to either up up new fights or even new skills. For example, if there were a Templar Skill tree and you could permanently be in the Templar group you would get access to specialized skills. But it would close off, for example, a similar Minmatar skill tree. And that way there could be more of these events more often without having to seed the community for volunteers.
kooko did you see the groups of 4-6 templars with all their numbers under 100 running around at all? A bunch of people in my corp were templars so we grouped up as just templars and would deploy into games, I'm sure it was like a goldmine for the people on the other team....you can actually see a picture of one of our squads of 4's stats in phoenixarcher128's previoius post!
200 templars is a very small number especially when you make the random playrrs who may have no intention of playing them.
Giving out no sp to the characters on the account means people had to choose between their mains that won't get deleted or the event character.
Also random players could simply let their friends kill them then get off denying others access to the event.
Giving them crap skills and no isk makes people not want to be the target why play a crap skilless character when you could play your main?
It was an interesting event but poorly planned and executed.
