Some of us console players play Dust 514, found out about EVE Online, and now play that game too.
Some of us are EVE Online vets who are trying Dust as the extension of their universe.
Some of us play Dust (like or frustrated), and never heard of EVE Online, or wouldn't have interest in it if we did hear about it.
But Dust players have one thing in common with EVE players----the personal feeling of "VANITY" invested in each of our characters. Sometimes vanity is good (it's like a pride in you).
CCP tapped into EVE character vanity with their "Character Creator" app, and a mirror installed in the Captain's Quarters.
Dust is CREEPING a little in that direction with what you will see in Patch 1.5's "front-view" effect of you merc's dropsuit in the Merc Quarters...
... but it nowhere comes close to acheiving this:
Your merc has a personality (you know it does... maybe it's the same as yours, maybe entirely different down to its gender or aggressiveness).
If your merc could take its helmet off, which of these (incredible) works of art would be you? Somewhere in these faces has GOT to be one that says BAMM, Holy Shmokes---that's what I see my merc as with her gear off!!
Please BE ADVISED, I strongly recommend "look but don't take as avatar"! If I created a portrait as sharp as these, I would not want someone taking and using it for anything. NOT without being kind and talking to me first.
(The avatar I use below for my Milla Slater was given only after requesting and getting blessing from a talented and super-generous former EVE player)
ROCK ON!! I think Kaiser Cole is SO with it! The portrait seems to say, "this is a vet of great interlect and precision-----DON'T TRY challenging HIM!"
Nice pick, Galvatron.
There are a LOT of faces in here that have great DEPTH... I mean to say, a lot are really, really detailed with an age, education, cultural background, even a nightlife preference you can actually "project" on the character as you look at each one.
A few catch the "mood" of my DS driver merc CELESTA better, but the most accurate "LOOK" is pretty definitely Gotan Kreiss, in Set 25.
That avatar says "...29 or early 30's, extensively educated, socially and culturally-equipped, sex on top, wealthy diplomat's wealthy daughter who won't comply with father's wishes not to fly Dropships in a war, Artificer/ protector-type of team player..."
...Yeah, Goyan Kreiss looks like a CELESTA AUNGM.
Holy shmokes, this all brings up an interesting question (and I don't mean at all to be pornographic), but are clone characters fully functioning with all our, emm, "personal plumbing" and such? Or are our clone bodies like genetic manequins with just intestines and blood for combat purposes, but none of the reproductive gadgets included? (cuz we're likely to get killed before our next romantic night out).
I imagine this issue has been raised in EVE Online, so any EVE vets please let us know. Thanks!
