this site shows June but Gamestop still shows May 1st
I've been waiting for this for a long time..seeing 360 having ddr games and not ps3 was like..wut..lol but now it's finaly out so i don't care. I have to wonder though, is this gonna have online match up? Cause if this is, my arouslement just increaced LOL.
Well dangit, it was looking like DDR would actually come out on the Ps3 in either March or May but guess what? Konami is being stupid AGAIN and just backed it AGAIN to October of 2010.... AGAIN!!! Irony is that it was initially slated for October of 09. I'm upset to say the least. I've continued to email Konami to no avail. I get nothing from them, no emails back, nothing. Apparently it's not enough. So I found something a little more involved; Konami's new support center has a ticket submission that an employee has to look at and reply to; I'm sure I'll get a generic scripted response about how they try to work as hard as they can to deliver the best product possible, blah blah blah. But I'm sure if I submit enough they'll start to get an idea. I hope that any and all of you will join me in this endeavor. Don't harass them and don't be jerks, I simply put in a ticket asking about the status of the Ps3 version and that I hope it is still on the way. here is a link to the support center, you have to sign up but it's really quick (they hardly want any info) and then just write them a quick note about how you want DDR on the ps3. We can do this!
Yes, from the PS3/360 Trailer, you can see that the game has Xbox Live/ Playstation Network mode, indicating that there WILL be online matches for both consoles
Although i am AS much forward to looking towards this game as anyone, i simply say this: Patience is a virtue.
I know that since SuperNOVA 2 and the release of the PS3, we have been WANTING, NEEDING a DDR for the PS3, but if you were to think and look at the trailer from last year's E3, the game just looked GOD awful (graphics, characters, even the arrow skins too).
I have a feeling that they wanted to change the date to an October release because
1. The date would precisely fit the annual year-round DDR titles that come out every year and so (same goes for the POSSIBLE PS2 version which might be DDR X3 and the POSSIBLE next Hottest Party), making the PS3 and the 360 DDR's this year's DDR titles.
2. With the release of Natal and Playstation Move this coming Holiday 2010, it is possible that DDR for the PS3 and 360 will be one of the first games to implement the new technology into their game, hence the release date being Holiday 2010.
3. Fine-tuning the game to not only be released into America, but also to release it across the world (Japan has YET to get their version of DDR X2, and oddly enough, the DDR X2 Arcade looks EXACTLY like the PS3/360 version of DDR, so who knows?).
And there are more reasons i can give, but these are the only ones that i can think are LIABLE reasons as to why they would push the date even further...
...besides, i don't want to get the game this early in the year, i love October/November music-game releases! (but that's just me)
Konami's E3 2010 Conference is happening Wednesday @ 1pm PT, There will be "MANY" surprises, not just for Konami, but also for DDR as well...
I'll be sure to keep a look out and update this page as time/news comes in!
Unfortunately, there was not even a trinket of news during the Konami conference...
...buuuuut don't be afriad! Naoki has said that news of the DDR PS3 will come "in a little while". Plus, the Konami E3 site states that there will be MORE news on it's games days AFTER E3, plus we found a "ddr2" page that might be an indication as to the PS3/360 games, but were not sure still...
I'll try and keep this page updated as soon as i get more info on it
at this point - does it really matter? I was ready to buy DDR-PS3 for 2 years. I have since moved on to other things. I suspect others as well.
IF the game comes out in PS3, I question the potential audience relative to what it would have been even 1 year ago when the teaser of DDR-PS3 was released...
