Interesting choice for someone not into fighting games. But yeah, I can see how MK appeals to you , it has always been one of my favorite series but I am so NOT in love with MK9. I think it's my SC4 another fighting game that I thought would be awesome, but I'll probably not play again unless I have to.

I miss the days when there were almost too many to choose from.

I like intesne games, Action shooter,role play. etc...

MK is cool it has blood, gore.. etc.. lol

Soul Calibur played it for the gamecube.. it was iffy when i saw it for ps3.. Tekken never grabbed my attention....

I play the, mortal kombat title alot and since it is the only game I have it's the winner.

I like KoF & BlazeBlue more than the rest of the choices that were mentioned. I have MvC3 & SSFIV AE, and while they are ok, I like KoF alot more. I never liked Soul Calibur, even though I had the GC version of SC2. I haven't played the latest MK yet, but I'm sure it's pretty good. And I haven't played Tekken since Tag Tournament, but I might get Tekken 6 since it's cheap now. I like BB because of the different ways each character fights (even though some can be cheap), and I like KoF because it's simply awesome (plus I've been a fan since '97).

I play a variety of fighting games when I have the time. I'm only do casual play for now. When I can spend more time, I'd like to go to the next level which probably means playing people online. I have friends that play casually too but they don't live close by so it's difficult for me to play locally. Anyway this is the list of games that I have in no particular order:

I got into Mortal Kombat a lot last year, learned combos with Smoke, Sub-Zero, Mileena, Jax, and Sektor but never played enough to get competitively good. I have fun playing it with friends (but I got into it more so I tend to win more so they don't like playing often). The online isn't great so I'll never touch it.

This year, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown has been very interesting. I have an arcade stick, so I'm still trying to get the movement on stick down before even trying online mode. The customization is fun and the game is just a fighter, no beams, and uses a simple rock paper sciscor system:

Punch > Throw

Throw > Gaurd

Gaurd > Punch

I hear the online is good so sparring partners are welcomed.

I like MK because the characters are rich with diversity, and the story and lore are also great aspects that keep me interested. Too bad i suck at fighting games and no one I know plays MK.
