Hey gang, until an actual Final Fantasy XIV forum section opens up here on the PlayStation forums I wanted to extend an offer to all upcoming PS3 players of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn a chance to find a guild
Visit our site at http://www.kupoknights.net , register an account on Guildwork and at the top bar on our site click "Main Menu" and "Guild Application". I know signing up and all that is blah blah blah, but it just gets you registered on our stat, loot, raid tracking system once events get rolling again and it also allows you to access our forums and voice chat functionality.
We hope to see you soon during beta!
1. Its a total remake of the game, for both PS & PC
2. Well, its an MMO, so of course it will have similarities to WoW (and every other MMO)
The community (from the short time I played) seems to be broken up into two types of players.
Nice people, and elitist asshats that seem to think they owe their very existance in this world to FFXIV.
Of course theres "dailies", quests, guilds, etc etc.
So yea, its going to be similar to WoW in that respect, but thats about where the similarities will end.
I am excited for this come out, been playing WoW for 7 years, it's time to move on. I am looking forward to this dropping.
Brozz is correct. It is a total remake of the game from the ground up. It doesn't however pretend the original game didn't exist story wise. Basically if you watch the "End of an Era" trailer it depicts that players from the old version of the game are time traveled 5 years later to the remake version of the game. New players will start off with the new storyline and the old players will start in a different area of the game since they are "time traveling" in to the new version.
Yoshi, the game's new producer/director, has largely said to have taken inspiration for this remake from many popular MMO's besides World of Warcraft like Guild Wars 2, Warhammer Online, Rift, Tera, etc. He's stated he's a huge MMO fan so he's cherry picking the aspects of those MMO's that are fun and work well, and then putting them into this FFXIV remake with more of a Final Fantasy spin on it.
Just a heads up, it's E3 week and a slew of new FFXIV information, live streams from FFXIV's producer at E3, a new Final Fantasy game annoucement, and the start of Beta Phase 3 for FFXIV is quickly approaching this week.
The inside word is beta invites will start going out June 12th.
Kupo Knights is recruiting PS3 players to join PC veterans of FFXIV for this weeks beta and through launch going forward. If you are looking a guild, give us a look at kupoknights.net
