We would be more than happy to help.
(original post)
I think it's about time to start back up the Welcoming Committee. It would make sense advertising in this board, rather than trying to send PM's out to all the new users as they register.
I was a member of the old Welcoming Committee. If any of the newcomers have any questions about the forums and they can't find the answers elsewhere, you can shoot me a PM and ask. If any of the other veterans would like to volunteer as a guide/mentor for the newcomers, please post here and I will add your name to the list. It would be a great opportunity to share your wisdom and experience with the next generation.

Good idea!
I wasn't really aware of the old "Welcoming Committee" as was so I know very little about it or who was on it, I am also not sure what or who you consider to be a "Veteran", whether it be solely judged on DOJ, post count or a mixture of those & some other variables, would I like to be considered as a "mentor/Guide" for newcomers? yes I would, I'll leave it up to you if you think I'm qualified ior not.
Good idea though Dr!

You definitely qualify.
Thank you.

No, thank you for agreeing to help. People often undersell themselves and feel unworthy of being called a veteran. You shouldn't. I've seen you around helping others.

Anyone plan on creating a New User Guide?

The previous Lithium controlled forums had a New User Guide. It detailed all of the forum features, tools and navigation, basically.

Gotcha.
There are a number of stickied Threads at the top of the page for this Forum, one of them is the Forum Guidelines one which contains some useful information, he link is below,
There is also one titled "Rules of Conduct", another pretty useful Thread.
I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly that you're probably already aware of these, they are of some help to both new new & experienced users alike but still not what you are referring to exactly?
Perhaps the Dr or someone else can help you put, sorry.
