Blurry graphics 720p/1080p 22inch Monitor

I have got a Viewsonic VX2250, and graphics are blurry playing GT5. Ive been through display settings, and it is on 1080P with RGB on Full. I am using a DVI to HDMI cable. Any ideas why its blurry?

When is it blurry, while on the XMB and playing any game, or only GT5?

Does it happen with any other games or movies? What happens if you set the PS3 to 720p?

Check if your monitor is auto-adjusting when the PS3 launches GT5, my TV will do this from time to time.

Re: Blurry graphics 720p/1080p 22inch Monitor

No, it doesn't occur when i watch movies, its quite clear. My monitor notifies me when the resolution is not optimized, 1920x1080. I do not recieve this notice while playing GT5 at 1080p, though i did at 720p.

At 720p, game looks pretty much the same, still pretty blurry.

I also played Time Crisis 4, with the ps3 set to 1080p, but it automatically goes ot 720p by itself, and my monitor would notify me.

When they say "pictures are worth a thousand words".... this is one of those situations.  A picture would help us narrow things down for you and would allow us to see what you are seeing, rather than trying to describe.

Images taken from a Blackberry 9780, so won't look great, but should show the bluriness im receiving.

The "Romeo" section, on the license plate area, is very blurry, and quite hard to distinguish the letters. Back of the vehicle is generally blurry.

I think we can confirm what you're seeing.  Your HUD display looks just fine - This tells us that it's not a Playstation 3 issue, not a monitor issue, not a game issue, and not even an issue at all.  GT5 uses "ported" cars from past GT games created for the Playstation 2.  Little tweaking was done to import these cars into the next-gen console system (Playstation 3).  You're going to see these "blurry" textures on 700+ cars, because only around 200 or so were revamped with new textures and graphics.

In GT5, if you race any of the "Standard Cars," you'll get this apperance.  If you race any of the "Premium Cars" it will most likely go away.  What you are seeing with the blurry license plate and jagged accents outlining the car's panels... this is normal.

Thanks for posting the image.  As long as the HUD doesn't appear blurry, you're just fine.

Re: Blurry graphics 720p/1080p 22inch Monitor

I think the Alpha Romeo displayed in the picture is a premium, as it has a cockpit. Though, on a HDTV, the "Romeo" is more distinguishable,  the image seems more crisp.
