The tutorial level that was available in the VIP area of the Sony E3 booth in Playstation Home was pretty good. It wasn't Kingdoms of Amalur, but I've played retail action RPGs on Playstation that weren't much better. The game is from Lockwood, which also did the Salt Shooter and Project Velocity games in the Sodium space. Those are two of the best-produced games in Home; so I would expect a similar level of quality from Mercia. It is certainly worth checking out. The beta is obviously free. I very much doubt that the game will have a monthly fee. Games in Home are free to play, or require a one-time purchase of $7 or less. Nothing has a monthly fee. Here is a web link if you want to read more about the game.
