God of War: Ascension Multiplayer

I love the idea of Thanatos, but he's pretty much Hades' second in command so it wouldn't make sense for them to be competing.

Where does it say Hermes doesn't fight? He's a (easy) boss in God of War 3, and he fought in the Titan War. Any of the gods could throw down, all of them fought the Titans except for Aphrodite. 

Since the god selection is on Mt Olympus, this stands to reason that it must be an Olympian. That means no demi-gods turned into gods either (Hercules).
(EDIT: By Olympian I mean the 12 ruling gods:
Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Ares, Hera, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Athena, and Demeter.

All other gods are considered "minor" gods and weren't worshipped by Ancient Greece in the same as esteem as these 12)

One Olympian I forgot in my last post was Hera, she's the goddess of family and marriage though so I couldn't really see her ordering slaughter in her name.

lol Hera quite often manipulated people into killing others who had offended her. but i do see what you mean, not THIS kind of slaughter...

haha yeah, she really screwed Hercules over specifically. I just see her as more of a manipulator, driving people insane and all that.

It has to be Athena. The only thing the classes seem to be missing is a healer.

Athena would be a perfect healer/support class

I would think Athena due to her importance in the series but there is cause for speculation because there's an armor set for her already. I would think Helios  would be a decent choice. Hermes doesn't seem powerful enough.
