Yep, it indeed is one of the many root names of Athanasios. There are other names such as Sakis, Thanasis, Soulis and Athanasia(Athanasia is a girl name and means Invulnerability). ![]()
Here in Greece, Thanatos is also known as Charon, and is pronounced as Harus. ![]()
Half the foreign names do come from ours native names by Christian history's Jesus Christ's 12 students. ![]()

Not really, the foreigners do come to Greece to study and to work. Some foreigners are here for the sports. ![]()
And indeed in the past they used to study the battle history and the weapon techniques. Nowadays, this is done only to the Greeks, especially the Roman Fight.
