The Manticore was described as having a lion's body and a human head with rows of teeth like a shark (it's kinda like the Persian version of the Egyptian sphinx) but aspects of the creature seem to vary from story to story; some tales mention it having horns or wings or both, and having the tail of a dragon or scorpion... at least that's what I read online.
This is probably SSM's spin on the creature. Awesome trailer overall!
Good observation! I can almost confirm that you are correct since this beast in the concept art is falling through the sky, just like it does in the trailer. I wish it looked more like the concept art though.. notice that they reduced the size of it too 
. The monster that breathes flames later in the trailer appears to be this same creature. If you keep pausing the video you can see that the dude who turns the ground blue has 2 heads, so i'm interested to see what that's about
