Sony really needs to pull their heads out of their behinds

As a diehard GOW this is hard to say. However, reality is reality. The MP in this game should have been outsourced to a more MP experienced dev team. People were saying this when the rumor of Ascension having mp first started. I guarantee even Sony contemplated this. In the end, they go the "cheap" route and instead of having a mp component that could have been gigantic, we have a bottem of the barrel nightmare with a community on life support not even three freaking months after release. Atrocious hit detection, god awful lag, exploits out the behind, matchmaking that makes CoDs look adequate, terrible "balancing", more bugs than a Bethesda title and a flat out underwhelming experience overall. GoW is still a fantastic franchise and will be a powerhouse next gen as well. However, if MP is gonna be a key feature, Sony needs to wake up and let those with experience handle it next time. You can't expect to sell DLC if 90% of the community leaves in a month.

Lag and poor hit detection are one and the same, and most bugs are also latency related

All matchmaking is crap no matter the game. Server lists should be the standard.

The ping of all players should be a matter of public information. So the not laggy players can quit out.
