How much of a difference does 10hp really make?

It doesnt seem like much, but it's cheaper than buying all the go fast upgrades. Sure you'll buy them all anyway, but I think that it's just something that's good to do right off. 10 bhp isnt much in the short term, but it can make a world of difference as you get up into the higher levels of power I'd imagine.

In many cases, it's more than 10 HP.  For instance, on the NASCAR cars, it boosts you from ~850 to ~890.  I think my cars are currently 892.

Sometimes it won't let you change the oil. I have had a message pop up saying "This car does not need an oil change" or something to that effect. Same with engine rebuilds.

A 1 second difference per lap for some of the lower class cars...  That can mean a win or a loss.

Yep what he said.  I forgot to change my lexus' oil in one of my first races and got second.  Went to change my oil and when I raced again it put me back over the top

I've been forgetting to change the oil recently.  Been a bit rusty since GT4

yeah this trick has been here since at least GT3.

how can you not go to the used car dealership?? there are alot of amazing cars. i dont understand really what the gripe is with standard cars other than lack of cockpit view and hi res photo capabalities and rims. Their each individual and handle accordingly. How many racers have to use cockpit view? i do seldomly but mostly its the closest view for me. (the one with the rpm and mph display). but to each their own.

Level 21 A-Spec and I just remembered you can change the oil on your new cars right away and recieve a small (but permanent) horsepower boost.    Don't forget to change your oil before first driving a new car!

While this is true, definitely don't forget to change your oil in used cars!  So many times I have hopped in a new purchased used car and I see the oil light on the tach...D'oh!
