Good GT Racing Wheel

What'd be a good racing wheel that isn't ridiculously expensive to help me get started when I purchase GT5?

Here's what I found in the search bar TechGenius20, welcome to the forums.

http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Gran-Turismo-Series-General/Best-rated-wheel-and-pedals/m-p/3...

I didn't look to see if it was full of good information or not but this has been a popular topic in the past. Good luck

Driving Force GT by Logitech. I was sent a VIP email from them today as a matter of fact . They still had both a DFGT and a G27 in stock. DFGT was for 119.00 and the G27 was 150.00. Either one would be great for you to start.

I suppose "rediculously expensive" is a relative term, but for me, the Logitech DFGT was a solid bargain. Cost me ~$130 (which is not "cheap", but approaches the low end for a solid wheel), and it has served me very well for the past two or three years so far, and it shows very little wear for the use. I keep it clean with a cheap dime store paint brush (dust) and avoid driving with shoes on to prevent accidental damage to the plastic pedal unit.

If I had the money, I would have purchased a G27 or similar, (better feedback and fabrication) but they're a bit over twice the price, so "rediculously expensive" or at least "expensive" comes into play, at least for me. I do toy with the idea of upgrading from time to time, but since I'm an independent contractor, that desire always seems to be mitigated by things like April 15th...

A good entry level wheel is the Logitech Driving Force GT. It's in the ballpark of $100 when you can find it on special.

I use the DFGT. Best video game peripheral purchase I've ever made. I've wanted to upgrade to a G27 for quite some time but haven't got the cash to do so.

Yeah, same here. With some care and a little regular maintenance the DFGT can last a while. I've had mine for around 6 years. Got it for my PS2, it keeps on going. (knock wood)

I started with the DFGT.

And I agree 100% it's the best Wheel for the Money.
I've since updated to a G27, but I've got to say that the DFGT had / has better feel to it.

The Pedals on the G27 are much better though, than what you get with the DFGT.

(get one of the Foam rubber Golf balls, and stuff it behind the brake arm. It will give the DFGT brake pedal a more solid feel)

I think I'm going to switch back to the DFGT but use the Pedals from the G27.

The DFGT is a bit more noisy, the G27 is more smooth due to the Helical gears.

But still the Feel of the DFGT is in my opinion better.
