Back when we posted our ‘Next Week on PSN‘ article back on Thursday, we alluded to the fact that an unannounced PS2 Classic would be making its way onto the PlayStation Network.
Well, according to the Asian PSN website, that PS2 Classic will be Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They currently list the game for a December 12th release date, but if this turns out to be true, it would be out on December 11th in North America.
What makes us believe that it will be hitting NA next week is the fact that the Asian PSN site also listed Grand Theft Auto III for the end of September before it was officially dated. Also, with the ESRB rating of San Andreas back in October, a 2012 release seemed almost inevitable.

The potential's definitely there. Rockstar, Take-Two, or whoever would just have to slap it on the store and produce sales - which a game like this would probably get them some in this digital age. Even better is if they were to bring the game up to high-definition code, or even remake the game. That would take more time and effort, obviously.

checked this out at the store and found no screen shots or video . so what are the graphics as i can not find any info. after ps3 hd game play the old low def games are near unplayable on a 40+ hd tv. gta san andreas poor ps2 graphics were made worse by the games annoying weather simulations.
also the ps2 san andreas had no real wide screen option so wide screen coverage on a 16:9 tv is cropped or stretched . so i hope the game comes 4:3 thus allowing zoom, crop, and aspect ratios to be an option to the user.
also does any of the controller entered cheats work on the psn version of san andreas? of course no cheat/mod disc use. cheats/mods did add to the replay value.
in my research i did find out that a 720p version of gta san andreas was available on the xbox 360 four, yes four, years ago. say what????

Still refuse to pay $14.99 for this game that's insane. $9.99 is the MAX amount I would pay for this game and I would even consider that too be a lot for this. I'll jus wait till it gets a price drop i'm in no hurry to pay that outrageous price for a game I played and beat like 4 times already.
