Re: HSG:OOB (EG:WT) Frequently Asked Questions

I agree with Rowdy.  I use the behind the shoulder/character view to gauge the swing from left to right, and then press the R2 button and use the overhead view to set the amount of power, as it is easier to stop the ghost ball ball say a foot past the hole.

I'm not aware of anyway to change the grid that is displayed.

Hey Noobs (and everyone)

I suck at putting, let me just put that out there up front  :smileywink:

The grid with the blinky lights is helpful, and the usually accurate caddy (sometimes they outright lie) is also helpful, but I would really like to be able to see more contours and what not on the green. Is there any way to do this? or, is there some advice for putting?  Or some way to change camera angle in a useful way to look at the green?  I thnk its odd that in real golf, the golfer will spend 5 to 10 minutes studying the green (our characters actually do it when you hit onto the green) but then when its time to hit, I can't look at it...

TIA

WFT?? what golfer gets 5-10 mins to study the green...............are you having a laugh??? noobs is he having a laugh??

:smileywink:  Missed the 5 to 10 minutes part!  I would suggest he enters Very, Very, Very Slow Tournaments!!  But I'm guessing he'll be very lonely!  I stand by my two view putting approach, mind!

OK, so the 5-10 minutes part was a little extreme hyperbole, but I made my point in that I find studying the green and getting a consistent read off greens in general is difficult. Sometimes you read the green correctly with the grid, sometimes, a very similar read causes the ball to roll (warning, hyperbole incoming) ONE MEEEEEEEEELION yards.

Say you made a shot that was cool or weird or you just liked that Bogey or worse that you got.

on the final screen right after the putt goes in, you can press L1 to manually record the shot.

look for the little icon above or below the [] "replay shot" I can't remember exactly.

I have done this on a couple of my long backdoor putts, pin strikes tap in eagles stuff like that.

The game only automatically records chip-ins, double eagle/albatross hole in one etc...

Read the question before running your mouth (and forgive me for sounding harsh but the forum is for trying to help people if they have questions)
