I havent platyed the game in a long time and now that i try to play it freezes on me on main menu or when i select a charcter. I have to restart my PS3. Anyone know what the problem is?

Have you tried going to the online mode?

Since you haven't played in a while? There have been serveral updates to the game.

Try clicking online mode and it will check to see if your up to date? If not it will update for you.

i deleted game data and it works now

You can delete game data and keep the save data. But deleting game data makes you reinstall the patches. Worth it for people who seem to have their game data corrupted somehow.

I didnt have any saved data cuz i got a new PS3 but the updates took forever

Not only does the game freeze on me it also kicks me back to the xmb after playing one hole in a tourny.
