To understand the story...

Spoiler
just think about the history of humanity. From when the Earth begun, it's been documented that plant life instead of housing bloomed around all the more. Wildlife was replaced with skyscrapers, though. Industry took over and machines are now part of the daily routine.

 

The story is very similar to the one you may have seen in Flower.
