Re: MAG on Facebook

Great job on the Facebook pages.  I've only checked out Raven's so far, but the whole concept is very good.  I had posted in the Sony beta forums regarding the need for more community-driven aspects, and then I found this!  It's encouraging to see more glimpses of the Shadow War and the MAG "world," other than just the few maps and stripped UI we experienced in the beta.  I'm in such MAG-withdrawal right now!  LOL

Anyway, just wanted to say well done on the FB pages, and here's to hoping the new FW FB integration features expand and make the whole PS3/MAG/FB experience even tighter!

See you around buddy.  Admit that MAG is one of the best games in the world because you know you've thought it at least once.

Re: MAG on Facebook

So how did this work out, then, Jeremy?

You did /exactly/ what I feared you would do. And in the end the game has few players, unpleasant players, and one-dimensional, boring games. You took a brilliant game, and patched it apart, while failing to argue well enough for the (critically)necessary network support from Sony. So the actual game-mechanics and code were supposed to work.

And the game bombs - even though it sells quite well, very few actually play it online. Because lag and bad mechanics. Strange how that works out, no? I said it early on - you don't have enough people as a player base to somehow maintain a loyal base in the same way Bungie did with Halo. So if you wanted this game to succeed, you actually had to provide a good game at retail, that played well all the time.

Or is that too far out there..

Re: MAG on Facebook

For every person that says that MAG has failed or is failing, there is another person who will say they love MAG, and that it is simply fantastic.

Bad mechanics? Lag? Boring games?

They're figuring out the bullet mechanic, and after 1.05 it seems pretty solid. The repair system is still iffy, but it was never game breaking. I think the mechanics of this game are fine.

I don't know what some people are talking about with lag. I rarely feel like the game is anything but precise. Sometimes the APC driver lags at the start of a game, but that is the most common.

And as for bad rounds, that happens in any online multiplayer video game. there are also very good games. Its sort of  a given when it all depends on the players.

So when it really comes down to it, people still enjoy this game. In fact, when i actually play, its nothing like it is on the forums here. No one complains about LMG's or how much MAG sucks.

Re: MAG on Facebook

...ok. So how many people are left on the servers? Is it even as many as the amount signed up on the forum, facebook and twitter put together?

Re: MAG on Facebook

No comment, then? Zipper ignored us then, Zipper ignore us now. But the sales tanked in the exact way some of us told you they would. Remember that. You were told how this would go, and you did the "majority of the internets want it" changes anyway. You knew how those changes would affect the game, but implemented them anyway. Because you thought it would increase the sales.

And then the game tanked, because it sucks. Be certain that you remember this.
