,I was having a discussion with a fellow gamer who is a member on these boards and we started discussing about games that get or have gotten overlooked because it was not a part of popular series games like Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Grand Theft Auto, Devil May Cry, etc. So, I began to think, what games have gone through the cracks and never really gotten great ratings from our ever popular mags and g4tv? And those games where we made all the hype about and then when we got the game ourselves, we did not like it but b/c of the hype given by those same popular mags and g4tv we went right out and bougt it. One that was mentioned to me was Sly Cooper and the Thievous Racconous (sp), this game is very addicting. My nieces have this game and I played the game on demo and I could not put the demo down. I was going out to buy it but got overwhelmed by Xenosaga Ep. I and other games that I totally forgotten about this game myself.,We say games like Super Busta Move (the one with the baby on the front cover) are stupid but if you really think about it when you play this game it becomes addictive and think also it is a game that you can finish in an hour and put it down and come back to it if you want to "play something right quick". Another game I feel has gotten underrated was ICO. It was badly underrated. I rented it for a week and I felt that it was a pretty good story and the game play was easy compared to some of the games we are commonly used to. You have your demons, your bosses and you get to save the girl (heh, I'm female but the lead is a male) And the horns were really cute! As I am typing this post many games began to flood my mind. But you get what I'm saying.,The games that were really hyped and I really did not care for were games like the .hack series, I liked the actual story but the repetetive dungeons kind of killed my mojo on this game. So I quit with it hoping to pick them up again and maybe find something good from them. How about that SOE? Really hyped but it was just pure stinky. I was hoping the engine would have been a little more original and a little separate from GTA's but oh well.,,So do I have any takers on this subject?

,Chrono Cross. Alot of people never even heard about this masterpeice, I guess it was lost in the shadow of Final Fantasy IX... which is a shame,XenoGears was also very good, yet many have never even heard about it,Kessen, what a great game. It was one of the PS2 launch titles, noone ever made any noise about it.,But thos three to name a few.,,I guess it depends on the company who makes it, and how much they are willing to spend on advertisment and hype. I know every time I see the Final Fantasy XI commercial I want to go play Commercials go a long way.

Well people generally play the game fall in love with it and then never actually try another game like it, and well become Fanboys. Happend with Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, and Gran Turismo
(all the ones you said) I give almost all games a chance I have thought about this alot and talked about it with other gamers for some time now.
Games that are usually big hits have been around for a while and they were first of their kind.
