Yeah, although that did'nt really surprise me all that much...(kinda used to it now :smileysad:), but what does worry me is how similar it is to X. But we've only seen very small glances at the world and characters of XII so it's too soon to tell whether or not it has any original merit.

Ivalice is a world that has been seen before in the Final Fantasy series. We'll definitely find out more about it in XII, but that's not to say we don't know what to expect from it.

The character designs don't bother me in the least. They pretty much look like I expect them to nowadays. I also keep looking back at who's making the game. Vagrant Story was truly a gaming masterpiece, and Final Fantasy Tactics was, for the longest time, the reigning strategy RPG, for a reason. The same expectations should come from Final Fantasy XII because we know these people's past works. I see no current reason, based on a few handful of screenshots and character profiles, that we should begin to doubt the quality of the work itself. Vaan may turn out to be a crappy lead, but then again, how many Final Fantasy leads have just been crappy characters? The three most recent come to mind. At the same time, Vaan may turn out to be one of the best main characters in Final Fantasy history. Either way, I'm waiting for its release.

I never answered the actual thread!

It all goes back to Phantom Brave and La Pucelle Tactics for me. The rest of the games will just accent the already beautifully shaped cake. I just hope it tastes as good as it looks. I won't be hyping any other games on the same level as these two. Buy La Pucelle Tactics next week!

Very true! And like I've said on a thread in the FF Board, I'll reserve my opinion of it until I've actually played it and have beaten it. And if things were as they were pre-X-2, and maybe even pre-X, I would have no doubts whatsoever about it's quality. I personally found the two latest FF's to be lacking in the storyline and character development department, but like I said, with XII it is a wait and see type of thing.
