I was able to play the demo smooth as silk, but as soon as I bought the full version it started to lag. About 50% or more of the time when I snap the ball the game will pause, or lag or stutter whatever you want to call it. It's really annoying because it will throw me off on run plays, and overall just make the playing experience not that great. This problem will happen in online play and offline play. It also used to happen on madden 10 as well. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? And if so what can be done to take the stutter lag out when I snap the ball. It is very frustrating. oh yeah and it will pause anywhere between 1 and 3 seconds or so when it happens.

This is ridiculous ! It's bad enough that the new features really didn't warrant the purchase this year. 60 bucks for a glorified roster update is getting beyond old already.

sometimes, but seems really bad when online with some clown with a poor connection...

this happens offline and online, whats the deal. why the stutter when i snap? Cus its reading off the disc?

I am having the same problem.  After I hike the ball, sometimes there is a 2-3 second pause.  It throws off my timing and it detracts from the overall gaming experience.  I have the same problems with NCAA football 11 but it's not as bad.  It seems way more frequent on Madden.  I hope that EA fixes this with a patch but shame on them for releasing games with technical issues such as these.  EA is one of the biggest game developers out there and Madden is there "flagship" game for lack of a better term.  This lack of quality assurance is unacceptable.  They should follow Nintendo's example with reference to quality assurance.  Nintendo will not release a product until it defect free.  I'd rather have a slight delay than play with these types of flaws.   I'm very disappointed.  I just wish than 2k still made the football games.  EA needs the competition.  This is a good example of why NFL exclusivity isn't good for developers or gamers.

i have this SAME exact issue on my PS3 Slim and Madden 2011.

My PS3 Slim has been updated to a 500GB Western Digital harddrive.  I notice that it happens in just basic exhibition games against the cpu and also online.

The delay is right as i hike the ball, the play will start for 1 second, then freeze for 1 - 3 secs and then will be fine until the next down.

I've noticed this same problem w/Madden 2010 on my PS3 Slim. 

HOWEVER, my PS3 Phat does not have any of these delays/stuttering on both Madden 2010 and Madden 2011.  My PS3 Phat has the SAME EXACT model harddrive (500gb, western digital, 5400rpm) as the Slim too.

**bleep**? I plan to delete my Madden 2011 game data on the slim but really doubt this will resolve the issue.  I'd love an install to hdd option more than anything with this game.  It almost seems like the issues are caused by Madden11 always connecting to the easports ticker service.

EA, any responses/solutions?

other users w/problems: do you have the factory harddrive or an upgraded one?  Also, i have the newer slim model too that was released this year: CECH-21xxA

i am having the same problem.i have the very 1st gen ps3 that came out and have a seagate 500gb hd.i didnt have any problems with madden 10 or any other games.my other friend also has a 60gb that he upgraded to a 500gb and his madden has no problems.is this a system problem or did ea mess up some copies of there cd's

yeah im using a 320 gb wd upgraded from the standard slim 60gb
