2.0 = broken knife?

I just recently came back to this game (formerly mexicrap), and i had played this game from the start. Now i come back to this 2.0 crap and i can't knife crap.. i use to get a knife combat ribbon every other game, now i can barely get a knife kill?? Whats with this "knife power" crap.? The speed i undertstand but power?? The knife should be max power and a OHK cept to heavy armor anyways.. Should take out the stupid power branch and bring back the extended reach branch..Its ruined commandos, but i figured they are out to ruin commandos and close quarters combat when they made close quarters all rapid assault perks...

I personally like the way the skills trees are. It really makes you decide on what kind of weaponry you would like to specialize in. It wouldnt make sense for a sniper to have a full powered 1 hit kill knife since he wouldnt be using it often, and it would personally piss me off if I snuck up on someone only to get killed in 1 hit.

Re: 2.0 = broken knife?

Get used to the no extended reach. Get closer before trying to knife.  2.0 the knife sucked and really was broken, but by 2.10 (current version) they fixed it. Still won't hit with every swing, but most of your swipes will connect if you are close enough.

Knifes should be selected.

The current and past knifing mechanism should really be a an attached bayonet which reduces accuracy and range.

Re: 2.0 = broken knife?

the knive is fine in the game just now, its just not as 'noob friendly' as it was in previous versions due to, as said above, no extended reach.  Getting a knife kill is all about timing and gauging the distance between you and the enemy.  A few matches of practice and you will be back on form

Re: 2.0 = broken knife?

I still don't really get on with the knife since the patch, rarely get knife kills these days as I keep missing :smileysurprised: Wish they would just make it a one hit kill though, theres too many instances where i've knifed someone only for em to survive then kill me with a single hit.

Knifing anyone lying down should also be an insta-kill as its effectively in the back, again a knife in the shins seems more effective...

Looking forwards to a PS3 price cut...what makes you think anyone who owns a PS3 really cares? If the price of the PS3 really bothered those of us who own a PS3, then we would have an XBOX.

Re: 2.0 = broken knife?

@caseh; If you have the upgraded knife then most are 1 hit kills. And I apologize if what im about to say will hurt your feelings, but if you knife someone and they dont die and you dont have the common sense to A) knife them again, or B) shoot them, then your retarded. In fact, I personally shoot anybody that im going to attempt to knife, even if it is a lone sniper. I want to make sure that knife will kill him.

Re: 2.0 = broken knife?

Fair enough. But realize that close quarters combatants needs the knife since they depend on stealth and weaker weaponry for electronics and speed.
