Tips for new players and old ones

3 replies 60 views Edited May 21, 2011

I see heaps of new players running around like there playing cod, but Mag is different. Here are some tips.

1. The very first thing you should do is get a medkit and full resus and this can be done by level five. But don't just have the ability's use them.

2. Start of playing simpler game types e.g.. surppresion and sabotage the move up to harder gametypes e.g.. the rest.

3. If you can use a mic ask other players for tips use teamwork, but if you can;t use a mic use the right directional button and use those sayings to get through what you need.

4. Listen to your leaders even if they have the worst ideas, you can argue about it afterwards.

5. Use skill points and currency points wisely so if your going to use a sniper all the time don't buy assault rife ability's.

6. After you get up a few levels try having a main weapon that you prefer to use, but also have different weapons because the game is always changing.

7. Don't become a leader if you don't have a mic.

8. When you are a leader don;t just be it for the abilities tell your teammates what to do, for example top four names in the squad flank one side other four flank they other side.

9. Have backup plans.

10. Use your tactical strikes well, for example if your platoon leader in alpha squad don't' just back up your bunker delta squad which will be at the other end of your row of bunkers could be getting swamped and your bunker is only getting one player running at it, so you would bomb the people attacking delta bunker.

11. Sometimes you need to die, for example in sabotage you could have know idea how many people are in the objective and if your in a small squad you need to know,  so run in and take out as many as you can then tell your teammates how many people are in there.

Veteran Mag players answer the new players questions and help them out as much as possible.

12. If you are or become a leader, LEARN how to use Frago's! Suppresion and Sabatoage don't matter but it sure does in the other modes. You and your team will gain tons more experience, especially if you stick together.

Having a mic on is pointless if your not going to use it tactifully to benefit your squad or the rest of the platoon. More than 90% of the time I'll see someone get SL over me since they have their mic on but they won't use it at all or if they do its just to yell for a medic or talk about things completely irrelvant to the game. So just because you have a mic doesn't mean you should apply for leadership.

Leadership positions should go not only to the person most likely to communicate with the team what they should be doing whether its with a mic or just setting the right fragos and calling in strikes at the right time but also should be one of the best players in your squad because the guy that is putting up the kills and staying alive is going to do the rest of your team far more good with his leadership abilities than the guy that is going 5-20 and dieing all the time and basically just wasting those abilities.
