Re: Tips on becoming a better First Person Shooter.

Here's a simple tactic that might seem obvious, but I don't see many ppl using it.  FLANKING!

It can be used with everything mentioned by the OP.  Just remember, its easier to kill an enemy(or 3) if you come up behind them or 90deg from them.  By the time they realize what/who/where, they're dead.  If you guy straight up head on...more often than not,  you'll die....even if you do get a couple kills.

Great post btw.  Kudos!

also chasing an enemy is never a good idea if their at a distance and you only get a couple shots in them but don't get teh kill it is never a good idea to go run after them your jsut opening yourself to multiple enemys and the cahnve for him tog et some pay back

Re: Tips on becoming a better First Person Shooter.

Great post but I feel you under played (IMO) the two most important things.

1. Always always always shoot for the head.

    a) The only way to consistently bring down Heavys.

    b) The only way to stand a chance of successfully engaging multiple targets.

    c) In MAG the hit boxes for the head are massive.

    d) Damage done to the torso is minimal.

2. Check your mini map with the up most vigilance.

    a) I tells you where everyone is.

Always going for the head isn't always the best option. In some cases it wastes time.

Kudos, great post. Just speed-readed through it and it seemed awesome. Might go back to reading it all in detail after a while.

Great stuff, Phantom, I definitely picked up a few good items from your short novel there.  This still doesn't translate how freakin' scary you can be on the battlefield tho!

Hah Geordie has read this, I was wondering how he's been able to ween himself off the LMG lately.

Re: Tips on becoming a better First Person Shooter.

Great post.  I enjoyed reading it and will definitely be using these strategies.  This is the first real FPS I have played on a gaming system.  I loved playing Battlefied on the PC.  So this gets some used to.
