Mass Effect 2 character transfer to Mass Effect 3

I tried to trasfer save file from Mass Effect 2 (PS3 version ) to Mass Effrct 3 (PS3 version) When I press trasfer character there is no save file on the screen.. Why&! Do I need to finish cerain Mission in Mass Effect 2?! or it's a bug?

I have both games in digital version including all DLC

I couldn't get mine to import either so I started from scratch. (I hope it will be fixed in a later update...)

well I know you have to have finish games, meaning you have to complete the suicide mission!

as FreshRevenge stated, you Have to beat the game (ME2)

in order to "Import" your save file. mine imported without problems.

not that it was really that worth it.

I've beat ME2 a couple of times.

But when I started with ME3 I didn't see anything about import the ME2 data.

So I started without it.

Where is the import dialog found, by the way?

I found an old ME2 save that was just before the final battle. after finishing it (again), I was able to start over with a ME2 import. the dialog trees are a lot different than what i experienced on my vanilla ME3 game. the bonus is you get to see your ME2 crewmembers (though not all of them will join you.)

I'm having the same problem. I beat Mass Effect 2 but it won't transfer the data over to ME3. Hope they fix it.

I had no trouble, I beat the final mission and the game auto saved. Though my appearance didn't transfer over so I had to remake Shepard's face, that was annoying. Why not just trying beating the final mission again?

This is old news to some but:

I finished up ME2 months ago and recently purchased ME3. I want to import where I finished off from ME2 into ME3, character appearance, decisions, standing, etc. However, my import ME2 character on the ME3 selector is gray and not selectable. I was told to go back to ME2, run and and save the Suicide Mission. However, when I start ME2 there are no saved game files listed at all. There should be loads of them. They are listed for Dragon Age, and Dead Space but not for ME2. The ME2 start page console shows New Game and Extras but there is no Load Game option there either.

When I look in my Saved Data Utility for Online Storage it reads 75 KB of data. The Mass Effect 2 Game Data file shows 4272 MB of data. The DLC and Patches file shows 703 MB of data, v1.03

I have been told that when you import your character from ME2 into ME3 he/she will not look exactly the same. I'm fine with that. I just want all of my attributes and alignment with my crew imported to pick up where I left off. Any thoughts???

If i'm understanding right, to answer your ME2 game data file question is what you should do is when your in ME2 to check out the import ME2 character options and you should see the character files for the games you completed with that particular shepard. But the downside is that you won't be able to load anything but only continue a new game in ME2 with the selected shepard import.
