Mass Effect

One of the most annoying things in the game is when I die, load a save, but to have to wait for a long cutscene to unwind before the battle starts over again. Is there a way to skip cutscenes, or fast-forward them to whatever dialogue options there are at the end? 

I really need something like that :/

I think that if you hit the square button during the dialogue sequence, you can cause it to advance......I think this worked for me last night when I forgot to save during the Feros sequence and reworked my way through it.......
