[MGS4] 'Full Install' doesn't mean 'Play w/o Disc'?

Is the 'Full Install' option just meant to decrease load times? I still have to have the disc in the console (and risk damaging it) to play?

full instal downloads all of the install data at once instead of having those install breaks between each act. you still need to use the disc.
