Wow is MGO2 really that bad?
I never played the game seriously but I wanted to go back and give it another chance.

For the most part it's fun at first once you get the hang of it. But don't play survival. And try to avoid high levels. Once you get into that area of the game it's dbag central. UGH.... it enrages me.
But there will be a MGO3 most likely. I'm just waiting to see how bad it sucks.

Things change when the deal goes multiplatform.

MGO was fun, for a short while.
They should start from scratch. Remove the "LOL HEADSHOT" gameplay and actually encourage stealth, and other stratagies, so not everyone is just M4ing the place up. The reward system needs to change too.
They should also make it a standalone game. Making it a standalone game would mean they wouldn't have an excuse not to reach across the whole series in regard to maps, weapons, items, and unique characters.

The game needed more balance. The skills were cool, but 90% of the users who play all went runner 3 because apparently it's the greatest skill EVARRR!

The headshot thing is still NOT an issue for me. I've yet to play a shooter game where I DON'T aim for the head, so I don't know why everyone still cares about this.

The issue is that it is stupidly easy to get headshots. Most shooters don't have everybody getting headshots 70% of the time. I don't have a problem with headshots killing you straight away, but it shouldn't be so damn easy that you can headshot an idiot spinning around in a box that is on the side of the map. I'm not saying they should discourage you from aiming for the head, it just shouldn't be so easy to get them.
