Re: VT's Not So New Armor Discovery Guide Updated:(3/4)

Looking for a good Bow armour.

Something with Guts, Focus, HGE.

been trying with Lava X, Mizhu & Hermitaur Z parts, & Ioprey S + jewels.

But most I can get is that Guts, Focus, Earplug.  if you have other variations with RA or other offensive abilities would be nice as well :smileytongue:

I tried:

Head -  Mizhu Z          Head -  Lava X

Chest - Lava X                        Chest - Lava X

Glove - Hermitaur Z               Glove - Mizhu Z

Waist - Lava X                         Waist - Lava X

Leg -    Ioprey S                       Leg -    Ioprey S

and some others that didnt quite work out.

also, for one of your posted sets:

Khezu Z,

Dark Akantor

Rathalos Soul Z

Dark Akantor

Rathalos Soul Z

for slightly higher armour, you could replace the Khezu Z helm with a Mizhu Z helm  :smileytongue:. They both have 2 slots and +5 to Hear Protect

Will look into the first set, i know bows don't have many slots so are we thinking no slotted weapon or 1+? Either way i'll check it out.

And thanks, will throw that option in there.

And- welcome to the boards!

Re: VT's Not So New Armor Discovery Guide Updated:(3/4)

Alright bro, i tried i few things and i think we're dealing with a 1 socket weapon - which isn't that bad considering the three you've chosen (not happy but it's better than 2/3 sockets huh?! lol...heh ya.) Here ya go:

Mizuha Cap Shin (blademaster)

Lave Vest X

Extravagent Sleeves Shin

Lava Coat X

Rathalos Soul Leggings Z

Gems: 2x Guts Jewels, 1x More Guts Jewel, 1x Rapid Charge Jewel, 4x Short Charge Jewel, 1x Earplug Jewel

Skills: High Grade Earplug, Focus, Guts

Def: 411; Fire:7 Wtr:7 Thdr:10 Ice:14 Drg:1

*1 Socket Weapon

Weapon Suggestions:

Exterminator Bow II, Akantor Chaos Bow, Dragonhead Harp, King Devil Blos Bow, Daora's Sagittarii, etc.

Re: VT's Not So New Armor Discovery Guide Updated:(3/4)

Ah, Awesome!  Thanks Loads XD.

My brother actually did something like,

Diablo Z

Lava X

Diablo Z

Lava X

Diablo Z

and gemmed it for Earplug, Focus, RA+1 , which I thought was not bad.

But.... gunners/bowmen always seem to go down in 1-2 hits, so I wanted Guts :smileytongue:.

This is gonna be a useful anti-Fatalis armour ^^.

altho. Does a Fatalis scream need HGE?

or would bowmen usually be too far off for it to matter, that one doesn't even need Earplug ?

If I don't need HGE,  would there be another Guts/Focus/+1 other - combination you could recommend? :smileytongue:

Ah not bad i suppose, whatever works dude.

And yes any Fatalis needs HGE, however I usually find i keep my distance enough to not get hit by the scream. And the radius isn't insane anyway. I recommend you see for yourself, better safe that sorry. Report back cause if you can get by without HGE that's another skill (or two) that we could fit in :smileyvery-happy:

Ah i usually find range weapons can do without earplug (for the most part); some, like Diablos/Monoblos, it's nice just to have cause their radius is huge.

Oh i'm reading as i go along lol. ok well if you're looking for an Anti-Fatalis Bow set... hmmm. Well yes guts is necessary, focus is great. I personally like to pair Capacity up with bows, but that's another hard one to fit in. Seeing as most bows are weak i would recommend an Attack Up (medium most likely possible) as that'll compensate a little bit. And/or some sort of shot up - Pierce Up would be nice if the bow has that. Lemme know what you think, maybe you've got a skill you wanna test out or something And we'll tackle this haha

Re: VT's Not So New Armor Discovery Guide Updated:(3/4)

Ok thanks ^^.

Hermm... well.... I might be able to survive without HGE. But I would still require Focus/Guts.

So an alternative to HGE would be an offensive skill. :smileytongue:.

I kinda prefer RA over Attack up for bows cuz of the number of hits it can do. same logic for using RA on DS and Attk Up on GS.

and Pierce Up would be very nice. It is my preferred arrow type due to the  range and accuracy it gives.

The next best thing would be Rapid.

As for Capacity up, hmm..... lets just say I don't like to stand still for monsters to hit me, so I havnt really considered :smileytongue:.

Although it really unlocks some powerful shots, like for the Purple Emperor bow - Pierce lvl 5?.

hmmm.... One armour set for High raw bows, One set for HGE and another for Elemental Bows.

Silver Sol Z set would prolly provide a good Raw dmg + PierceUp. But hunting Heavenly Plates is a nightmare -.-

Gravious Z, Blango X, has some Elemental Attk.

hmmm.... do you think a range Narge set would be useful, instead of Guts? Evade + Evade Dist Inc.

haha. Crimson Fatalist....Stamina + Capacity....not bad.. but....err.... hard to kill to collect enough parts?

O_O! I just saw a nice set, not so high armour,

but Silver Sol has Attk Up, Pierce Up & Elemental Attk ,

perhaps some modifications to this would give a bit more armour somehow.

I

yeah... I'm just muzing to myself.

Maybe its easier if I ask you what you'd recommend/or are using for for  (1) General Use,  (2) Screamers & (3) 1-Hit Killers

XD Really appreciate your help here. I would spend a bucket load of time just writing down armour piece info and comparing them.

haha. Getting time to Hunt once a day is already hard with University work  at the moment :smileytongue:

tried this:

Silver Sol

Silver Sol

Gravios Z

Silver Sol

Silver Sol

* 1 weapon slot needed.

Got PierceS Up, Attk Medium, Element Attk Up. armour only at 265.

RA isn't bad at all, either or works. And they're both fairly easy to get. Also yes pierce works very nicely, especially on fatalis - if that is your situation. Bows, honestly, aren't the strongest weapon to use while soloing - just saying. But possible.

Capacity up + focus works very well when you think about it. Just keep movin

Elemental Bows can be ok - the boost is def nice. Although it gets tough to get certain skills - elemental can get tricky, probably only 2 other skills with it.

An evade + evade distance set would be nice for bows but you'll probably only be able to get 1 other skill to go with it. And with that you could probably just use full Narga set - granted you need to keep in mind that most ranged attacks are fire based, and narga has horrible fire resistance (comparative).

Well as far as your three sets go why don't we just throw some skills out you might like seeing. Gimme some time too, home for the weekend and spending most of my time with the woman - next week i'll have more time.

With that in mind, evade inc is nice, focus is almost necessary, guts only for.. well fatalis really, runner is also pretty nice if you're out of mega juices. Anyway come up with a few possibilities you might be interested in so i have some leads. If not i'll just check a few things out when i have the chance... now that i think of it i have a few exams next week damn.

And not a bad set, might add that

One set i just stumbled upon that might work for Fatalis fights without HGE (it isn't very creative but useful i think):

Lava Cap X

Puppet Master Coat Shin

Puppet Master Gloves Shin

Puppet Mast Obi Shin

Puppet Master Socks Shin

Gems: 2x Strongshot Jewel, 2x Short Charge Jewel, 2x More Guts Jewel, 1x Guts Jewel

Skills: Focus, Guts, Dragon Resistance +5, Normal S/RapidBow Up, Stealth

Def: 351; Fire:21 Wtr:11 Thdr:14 Ice:-2 Drg:23

you've got great resistances, especially for fire and dragon - the two main elements of most Fatalis'

I'll look into some others when i have time, maybe a general usage - although i find the same set up + Barrage piercing works pretty well for general purpose.

Edit x2: Here are some sets in my thread that are about as general as it can get, main purpose is to bring the monsters down quickly. (highlight to read better):

Barrage Piercing

Kaiser Vest X

Kaiser Guards X

Puppet Master Obi Shin

Monoblos Leggings X

Gems: 1x Expert Jewel, 6x Short Charge Jewel

Skills: Reckless Abandon +2, Focus, Capacity Up

Def: 345; Fire:20 Wtr:20 Thdr:7 Ice:-1 Drg:2

Diablo Cap X

Kaiser Vest X

Kaiser Guards X

Conga Coat x

Diablo Leggings X

Gems: 2x Expert Jewel, 1x Fierce Jewel, 2x Power Coat Add Jewel, 1x Celebrity Jewel

Skills: Attack Up (Medium), Reckless Abandon +2, Power Coating Add

Def: 373; Fire:21 Wtr:10 Thdr:16 Ice;-2 Drg:-1

*1 socket weapon

Re: VT's Not So New Armor Discovery Guide Updated:(3/4)

Hi all,
I'm new at this forum please don't kill me if my english isn't so good cuz I'm italian

I was looking for a nice Blademaster set, and I got impressed seeing how many good setups there are in this topic

After thinking about it a lot, I came out with this set (it fits my gamestyle xD --> hit hit again hit hit again hit hit again xD ) and I wanted to share it with you because I think it's not so bad.

GuardianSprtMaskShin
GuardSprRaimentShin
Conga Vambraces Z
GuardianSprtCoilShin
GuardianSprtBtsShin

Def: 613 (with Felyne's Fish&Cereal meal AND powered up to the top (True Armor Sphere) )
Gems:   5 x Grinder Jewel,   2 x Celebrity Jewel,  1x AntiParalysisJewel
Skills:   Quick Eating, Sharpen Skl Inc. , RA+1, ESP, Para Duration Halved
Res: 10 Fire, 9 Water, 13 Thunder, -11 Ice, -8 Dragon

At now, I'm using this set with Carmine Blade (1200 --> 1272 with charms, 20% Affinity for the RA+1 skill, purple sharpness) and I'm not playing bad

The next set I'm gonna try to create is similar to this one but with Trap Master instead of Para Duration Halved (omg this would be my life set xD).
--------------------------------
I saw this set someone else made:

Conga Helm Z
Guardian Spirit Raiment Shin
Guardian Spirit Vambraces Shin
Guardian Spirit Coil Shin
Tigrex Greaves X

Gems: 5x Grinder Jewel, 5x Trapmaster Jewel, 1x Swordsman Jewel
Skills: Trap Master, Quick Eating, Sharpen Skill Inc, ESP
Def: 611; Fire:11 Wtr:9 Thdr:8 Ice:-6 Drg:-7

It's really nice, and I had to choose between
Trap Master   or   RA+1 & ParaDurationHalved
and I went for the second, this is because I really like the possibility to have a 20% Affinity on my sword ( I love the red flash on the screen when you land a critical hit *.* ) and because I HATE THOSE F*****G GENPREYS WHEN THEY PARALIZE YOU while you are fighting a omg-if-he-hits-me-im-gone-diablos or so xD.

So, that's all!

First: welcome to the forums! and i find it awesome my thread is the first you've posted on

Second: Oohhh not a bad set, not at all . Will add that, thank you - credit will be given as i'm sure you've seen. And thank you for listing all of the stats.

Ha, that's funny you picked that set out of the mix, one day i just decided to make a set that had most of the "quick" abilities; it was more for fun than anything, but i'm glad you like it!

Glad to see you're having fun hunting, if you need any armor assistance just send in a request - you can ask people around here i'm usually pretty fast.

P.S. - Thread Update coming soon. 3+ sets ... meh
