I'm still amazed that people can neglect a weapon type altogether.

My Guild Card weapon chart is solid all the way across

Don't get down Shakan. Honestly i find it IS easier to stick with one weapon for the earlier part of your career. Up to G rank it's just easier to stick with one or two weapon paths. You're making less weapons that way and wasting less money. You can always go back and make more in the end when you get more money. That's what i've always done. When i get the money and resources i splurge. Which is why my guild card is heavied towards duals and hammer. But believe me i hunt just as equally now with all weapons - well.. ranged is in a category of it's own haha

SnS does lack power.  its one of my fav weapons, but its just so... WEAK.  its was a go-to weapon in the first MH game (especially the psp version, as it was considered over-powered)

i used it a lot playign Tri.  almost no one would use the SnS.  i found it so annyoing when you go off on a hunt for a "smaller" monster and two guys bring long swords and another brings a switch axe... looks like im going SnS.

ive gotten into a few discussion with hunters who are convinced they are great with the LS... but they have no idea how to hunt with other hunters.  knocking over your teammates does not make you good.

sorry for the tangent

I hear ya about the SnS. You really need to just go berserk to get the same damage output as other weapons over time. It's great in a group IMO though, being able to use items without putting your sword away is always nice and being able to block with a quick weapon like that is incredible - but you also get to roll! I had a nice set that brought out its strengths back in Unite, and helped it's weaknesses too. Sharpness+1 Atk up Med, Evade +1 and Guard Inc - i was beastin with that set.

As far as hunting with others, i can say that not a lot of people understand how truly to use their weapons correctly. From the GS upswing to the hammer superpound and.. God forbid... pellet shot.... *shudder* it can be really bad at times. I used to be patient with people and calmly tell them what was up but now i tend to rage quicker... oh well.
