This topic is for the development starter team on the MTV Music Generator 'Revue' game; an almost exact reprise of the original Codemasters game with a little something more.
The original MTV Music Generator game was developed for PS1, almost 20 years ago. Filled with hundreds and thousands of loops and recorded instruments and voices, it lacked the immediacy of the internet and the PSN network of users. This study group will seek to re-animate the exact same simple program
CONCEPTUALIZATION
Although there have been countless follow ups and sequels, nothing is as good as the original version by Jester and Codemasters, in conjunction with MTV and its parent company, Viacom. This discussion seeks to bring back the simplicity, plus DLC capabilities that were not available when it was first released.
Building on the exact foundation, retaining all imported PS1 save data; the name interface will include links to the PSN network, forums and the new developer website, all of which downloadable content such as vocals, instruments, loops and effects can be purchased or awarded for trophies and play earnings.
Creativity is only the basic part of the new 'Revue'; using a selection of codecs and other save features, players will be able to save in various formats and exchange the files with their friends or post on their website. Some restriction may apply, depending upon the developers agreement and or player's PSN status.
SUGGESTIONS & PARTICIPATION
This forum is filled with public-based content and this discussion group is no exception. If you have any suggestions for content and features to be included in the re-release of this product, feel free to participate. We value your judgement and contributions. PSN membership and active status is strongly suggested.
DEPLOYMENT
Developing a product campaign can be both a learning experience and a building block for the development path. Creating the right deployment campaign is keynote and should be approached by industry professionals with background in the video game marketplace. If you meet these criteria and are interested in submitting projects, leave a comment on the project's tome page on this site. (keyword: Music_Generator)

Are you still working on this? How long to launch date? I have been waiting for a long time for mtvmg to return for ps3! I would like to see richer, louder sound, a more refined and professional interactive screen, ( A more 3-D build that looks like pro-software interface ), and the ability to blend music... make a rock opera, or a new age dance rythum with a techno beat. also more trax. I would also like to make a wish for an advanced next gen version for PS4, XBOX 720 and PC.
