None. I have the Platinum.

How many hours did it take to get the Platinum Trophy?

I clocked in around 100 hours. The bulk of the time was spent leveling up familiars to morph them for the 250 familiar trophy. I spent 15 hours or so dedicated to farming Scrolls of Truth, Kaleidestones and at the same time leveling the familiars. I also spent about 10 hours in the casino, which isn't really required, but it was fun. You will need about 375,000 guilders to buy the tokens you'll need to buy the movie tickets in the R.I.P. room of the casino for that trophy (but you can easily save, buy the tickets, get the trophy, reload and work on the 500,000g trophy.)

Expect a good 80-90 hours for the Plat.

I am wondering, what strategy did you use for the scrolls and kaleidestones. I got one scroll (I actually managed to steal it on my first try.) and I got a few of the stones which was a quest reward?

Also for the 500,000g trophies, I found the easiest way was to save then sell all items you have, until you reach 500,000, then go to the casino and buy all movie tickets, then reload your game. That's what I did anyone, I had a lot of items so it worked out well.

The scrolls I stole from the gold honky-tonker in the Tombstone Trail and the stones from the gold bedraggles in Glimmering Grotto. Basically I would simply order an all out defense while I tried stealing. There is another method that takes longer that was described by the original-se earlier in this thread that might work better for you. If you're able to knock a gold glimmer out then that's the best method for stealing the rare items, but can take a while. As I mentioned, I was also working on leveling up my familiars so I was killing 2 Trophies at the same time.

I had the 500,000g trophy before the casino movie tickets were unlocked. I did the same thing you'd done, which was sold off all my items before going for the White Witch and reloaded. It didn't take long to get the tokens in the casino. Platoon ended up being really fun once I got the hang of it. Took a few tries before I figured out the best methods to use :smileyhappy:

Well, I pretty much spent a couple hours on one sidequest, trying to tame a Green Buncher. I finally did, but that's pretty much all the progress I made today, aside from the exp I gained. With that said, I was in the seventh level of rpg hell, and I'm so glad that's over. I suppose I should expect more sidequests like that going forward though.

There aren't too many like that. The guy who gave you that one will eventually give you a few others similar to it. You will need to tame some 2nd level monsters (or evolve them). You will need to show 3 3rd level forms as well. There is also one quest later in the game where you will be asked to take a ghost's former familiar with you and level it from level 30 to level 40.

The final quest in the series will pit you against 3 "big bad uglies" and you will receive 3 tickets to turn in for 3 rare familiars: Lumberwood, relixx and dinoceros. You can tame all 3 on your own, but they can be a nuisance to tame at times.

Jeepers i feel so much better now, just tamed a lumberwood. Time to give it to ester, shove flan down its throat and rest easy

For those who dont know,

lumberwood has one of the best defense in the game, it is a flora type creature, it has healing ability, and ester is most compatible with it.

how to get it?

once you get the boat go to No longer Mine island, find him in the trees. He is in one set spot and does not spawn anywhere else and will not be in any other mob line up on that island. He has a 6 % tame rate and takes roughly 10 minutes to spawn back. Hes weakness is fire

Tip,

after you kill him without a successful tame cast gateway twice and he will be there instantly, no waiting

Be advised,

My party was early 30s and had to tap into my food and coffe provisions afer 2 battles. The mobs are rough there if you are to in your 20s

You are also rewarded with a Lumberwood during post game, so if you didn`t want to wait to tame him, which is a low chance, you could always beat the game first.

Thanks for the advice.  After finally writing that impending exam I had today, I decided to play some more Ni no Kuni.  I forgot to update my progress upon reaching Castaway Cove, learning alchemy, and undertaking some sidequests.  Today I pretty much just did one sidequest(the rainbow feather one), deciphered some nazcaan writing for Horace, and wandered back to the earlier areas of the game to catch some familiars.  I met some second forms of earlier monsters, but for some reason I prefer to raise creatures from their first form.  I do that with Pokemon too, mind you, so it's not so surprising that I would do it with familiars in Ni no Kuni.  Anyways, while that doesn't sound like a lot of progress, I added quite a few new familiars to my ranks.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is all done for me. There's definitely more game to play after you're done, but I think I'm going to pass on that and just leave it at the approximately 60 hours and one month it took to get here. :smileywink:
