The only people that should buy this system is new users to PlayStation 3, or people who need a new system. SCEA should of stopped making all these new cheap ugly systems awhile ago. Now they make a white one (Japan had the best one; the white fat-boy back then) and think it'll sell so much money.
I'm pretty sure we'll see PS4 in the next 2 years. I'll wait.

I like darker video game consoles and I’m quite satisfied with my PlayStation 3 Slim at the moment.

If I didn't have a PS3, then yea. But unless mine dies on me, I'll be sitting this one out.

It will retail for $299.99
See; this is one of the marketing things I don't get. It works, but I still don't get it.
Microsoft is most famous for it, but I think their "Skin" idea is a little more affordable.
I have never had the urge to buy another version of the system I already have, just because it comes in a new shape, size or color scheme. People do this though. Especially with how much these systems cost, it still amazes me when someone has more than one PS3.
Short answer; NO.
Not to mention, isn't the disc access on the Super Slim a flip top? Although it is less components to break, and you will never have to worry about a disc being stuck in there, it seems like Sony has gone very cheap on the design, without giving much of or any break on the price.
I will continue to save money for the next Gen.
