2013 Music Festivals - Attendance or Interest?

8 replies 110 views Edited Apr 28, 2013

What 2013 Music Festivals will any of you be attending this year?

So far I'll be going to the Carolina Rebellion next weekend and the Mayhem Fest in July.

I'm not a youngster anymore (but still love playing games and rock and metal, etc. ) ... but didn't go to any festivals until last year.

My husband goes with me. He's not into music like I am, but he's starting to actually like some of it, trying to connect to me more than before since 20 years has come and gone in our relationship. We've gone to several concerts in the last year as well. I love live music, and seeing some of my favorites live, and finding new favorites from festivals.

Carolina Rebellion: I'm most excited to see Heaven's Basement

There are several other bands there I've seen before and want to see again, and others I haven't seen yet, so it's a great draw.

Mayhem Fest: I LOVE Rob Zombie, so he's the huge draw for me. I only saw him for the first time last year. His show is freakin awesome.

I'm excited to also see Five Finger Death Punch, and not into any other bands attached to this festival, though I might like some of them, I don't listen to them, nor to any stations that play their music, except for Motionless In White. XM Octane #37 has played one of their songs recently and it's right up my alley. I have to look into them further, and hope to see them at Mayhem.

I would like to go to Heavy Toronto. In 2011 I had to work and couldn't go but one of my co-workers went and said it was AWESOME. I've never been to a festival before. One time I got free tickets to Virgin Fest but I scalped them. The last concert I saw was ZZ Top in November.

Festivals are a lot of fun. Depends on a lot, of course, 1, 2, or 3 day ... inside or out or both, weather, etc. It's a lot of fun because of there being so many different bands ... from lower to upper in experience/success.  It's really great when there are a few or more that you really want to see, of course. :robothappy:

The last concert I was at was Stone Sour just last week, In This Moment, and Hellwater played too. It was good, but kind of not too since it was inside Standing Room Only. ITM wasn't very good either, but the other two were awesome. Anyhow, I'm glad I'm going to a festival next since I felt crushed to death for half of that concert.

ZZ Top ... I've never seen them. I like them though. Cool in concert? My husband would like to see them I bet. (Not that I wouldn't!)

I want to go to Download here in June, heavy metal/rock festival, which also has 5FDP lined up to play. UK music festivals are a rip off though and I have no-one to go with, so I won't be going.
I should be going to Decibel in the Netherlands, providing everything goes to plan (hope the coach isn't cancelled) and the same with Qlimax in Netherlands.

ZZ Top was pretty good. Considering how old those guys are now they can still put on a good show. They played some classics and a lot of stuff from their newest album. It appeared to be full capacity though I'm not sure how many seats there are. It was in a Casino.

The coolest concert I went to was Motley Crue/Aerosmith back in 2006. I was backstage with a guest pass I got from Nikki Sixx earlier in the day. :smileyvery-happy:

Carolina Rebellion

May 4, 2013

Today the Carolina Rebellion kicks off! The weather isn't so great, not too bad though. Glad it's not hot at least! High of 63 today, maybe a few showers later.

Starting with Otherwise and ending with Alice In Chains. Aranda and Device, Young Guns and Three Days Grace, as well as In This Moment, Papa Roach, Deftones and Halestorm. Other groups are: 3 Quarters Dead, Monstro, Sick Puppies, Asking Alexandria, Bullet For My Valentine, Limp Bizkit.

It'll be a full day of good music!
