So I had this assignment for my foundational english class im taking at school, where we had to describe a setting as vividly as possible without actually saying what or where it was. I used this scene from the 17min BF4 reveal trailer as my reference.
It was a simple assigment, only requireing a paragraph or two. I generally like you guys, so im going to post it up to see what you think.
"Staring out over a desolate field riddled with craters that that have collected rain water inside them, I can see buildings mangled and broken from previous encounters in the foreground and distance. There is trash and debris floating and circling in the wind. A large number of birds are circling overhead as if to signal a large number dead in the area. I can hear a deep rumbling roar in the distance.
As I grip my rifle I can taste the bitter dirt in the air, observing broken pillars peppered throughout the field with their bent and twisted rebar supports reaching to the sky from within the concrete. The sun is high in the distance beating down through a slight hazy cloud cover."
Well I thought it was great. How much time did you have to write it?
The way my college schedule works, my classes are staggered, so I have english every other day, so theoretically I had a long time to do it, but like I said, it was a simple asignment, so I did it in about 30 minutes this morning.
Sounds nice if i were to here it without seeing the pic i would be hooked lol
Nice, this class has us do alot of descriptive writing, and just because, im probably always going to do video-game referenced ones.
