Best smartphone on the market?

My contract is almost up and I can't wait to finally free myself from this crappy iPhone. I have my eye on the HTC One M8. I'm also thinking about spending $30 more and getting the Harman Kardon edition because for the music options. Is this still one of the best? Or is there better now? Please no iPhones

Idk about "best" but i recently swapped from iphone 5 to motorala droid maxxx (not the razor max) and could not be happier with the decision. The battery life on the thing is just unreal, can go camping all weekend long and never need a charge.

When i upgraded the lady was trying to tell me samsung galaxy s3 was the best thing they had, i just couldnt ignore the battery life of the maxxx.

The best celly on the market is the Oppo Find 7.

The most popular will be the new Htc or iPhone.

Depends what you want, do you want something powerful? Something with long battery life? Something with a large screen? Personally I'd go with the Samsung S series phone, I have an S4 and couldn't be happier, Im not due for an upgrade until February but I don't think I'll need to upgrade my s4

I love the freedom of my Galaxy, to be able to do anything I want to from emulators to PC integration, plus, the screen is huge and i can actually see what im looking at

To you it may be, but not to me, to me, the iPhone is way too small, you can't replace the battery yourself and it just doesn't have the freedom the Galaxy series phones have. Android supports people to mess around with the software and make mods and stuff.

@HiTmAN_90

The iPhone could be good if it wasn't for the screen size, the inability to add storage, the inability to play lossless files such as FLAC and not being able to add media files except for images outside of using the iTunes app.

Video sucks too. Quality is fine but almost nothing supports the file type. Not even the basic QuickTime player. When I transfer them to my PC, I now have to spend hours converting everything to a different HD format.

I'm not all that fond of the galaxy either but if I had to choose between the two, it would definately be a galaxy. I wouldn't even want a new phone yet if I wasn't using an iPhone.
