Most games start at age 6 for children, but think of the cool things YOU will be able to do with it. DVD player, you might be surprized how fun these adult games are too. For more kids games check out Amazon.

I got my first game console when I was 4.  I sucked at vid games till I was about 6 though.

I'm not sure if you could find too many simple, 4 year old friendly ps2 games though.

No, because they may do something wrong and damage it on accident.

They should not be given them until they can take care of something, besides, four year olds shouldn't be in a house all day playing games, he or she should run around, play outside.....although when I was little, I detested being outside ().()

letting them play from time to time & giving them full access to ps2 is big difference, at age 4 kids should be playing games, video as well but not too much video..........for there eyes for one thing & there brains............u read the warnings on all the game books.........just have to limit them & have them take short breaks, put on some cartoon network or nickelodeon or maybe even read a book...............my 6 yr old loves her gamecube & shes pretty good at it, she plays some ps2 as well, but shes not in the room when im playing socom or gta3................

i would wait till they are about 7-8 years old and then give them a PS1. When the are 13 and up, then get them a PS2

No way!!  Go buy them an older generation console to begin with.  They will not know how to properly handle a newer generation console.  I would recomment a PS1 or maybe a N64.

Don't see why not? My wife's friends have a 5yr old & he kicked my buddy's butt on Madden 2002 6 months ago. That kid only has an N64, but plays with his friends PS2 (and mine) all the time. I guess it depends on the child. He also whomped me on Smackdown 3, and no, I didn't let him win. We're medium-hardcore games.

I guess it truly depends on the parents. Some points brought up that the kids wouldn't have fun. Not the ones I know. Just make sure you set parameters & limits. Keep them away from blood & guts games til they're older. If the parent doesn't teach the child, then they may find out the hard way what the child is learning elsewhere.
