Whatever for him. Yea, freedom of speech, but as people say: If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all.

I am glad I never watched this awful show past the pilot.

It's sad how touchy people are these days. Well, not all people, just the ones who need their lifestyle justified at every turn.

A&E will regret this decision, and the Robertsons probably don't care. They were doing more than "OK" when they got picked up for this show

It's called freedom of speech people... it's a right even when it offends you. We've got a serious problem in America if a minority can squeal and get you shut down.

I'm boycotting A&E if they actually hold to this.  I'll be emailing all the sponsors/advertisers on the channell letting them know that I and my family will be seeing any advertisements they pay for on that channel.

This reminds me of Jim Crow crap and segregation.  Seriously Christians in america are being treated like 2nd class citizens.  If they voice their opinion they are "publicly lynched" in the media for it, they are made to "sit in the back of the bus" sort to speak.

I did not fight and watch my friends die just to come home and watch the liberties, guaranteed to all Americans by the constitution, be constantly trampled on.    Nor did I take an oath to defend and uphold the constitution lightly.

I'm not a christian.  I am totally cool with people being gay if that is their choice, heck I have gay family members.  I actually voted to make gay marriage legal in my state when it was on the ballot.   That being said, I fully support EVERYONE'S freedom of expression in America.   This action against Phil Robertson is so anti-american, anti-freedom of expresssion, and I can't stand it.  I'm reminded of something from history that was once said by Martin Niemöller "First they came for the Jews and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.  Then they came for the communists and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Communist.  Then they came for the socialists and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Socialist.  Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.  Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me."

I might not be a christian or a catholic but I sure as heck am going to fight for their rights to have their religious viewpoints without having to face bigotry and persecution such as this over it.   Next thing I know I'll be the "bad guy" becuase I actually care about individual liberty and the United State's Constitution.

Its just a media stunt. All about the ratings! He's still getting paid and watch the show become even more popular. Although, I don't care too much for the show!

I find it amusing the LGBT community is up in arms about this, yet quiet about India wanting to deport ALL gay partners of American diplomats. Seems to me that the deportation of gay people from a country would warrant at least a response. Priorities people.....

A southern redneck with anit-gay views isn't news. But I guess these organizations need to get their names out there somehow.

Because this is in the United States. Us gays deal with enough crap as it is. This is how we want to be happy. You guys have no idea how much we have to deal with.

I don't doubt that for a second. Even growing up in what was/is rated as one of the most friendly LGBT cities in the country I have seen it first hand. My point is simply that NOBODY should be surprised by Phil's views. I mean, come on look at the dude. But you are not being forced to deal with anything because of his homophobic views. Partners of American diplomats however are being forced out of a counrty away from their loved ones. All special interest groups need to pick their battles and in this case I believe they picked the wrong one.

Think about it for a minute.  You want people to accept and respect your viewpoint and life choice, correct?  I respect it, I have no problem at all with you being gay, it makes you no better or worse than any other American.  However, this same acceptance and respect that you want is not being extended to those of the Christian and Muslim faiths, and in the name of intellectual honesty it should be.  Religious people deserve the same civil liberties as everyone else.

I have a gay friend and 2 gay family members.  They deal with less grief about their life choice in the media and in their real lives than I see those in my circle whom are Christians deal with through the media and real life.

On an individual level people don't have to accept the religious people's views at all, that is our perogative.  However, there is no need to for people to act like fascists about it and call for people to be individually persecuted for their religious views, especially in America!

I think you have a great point here. Being in San Francisco and being a Christian at my age is not that easy. People make assumptions. People are intolerant. And this actually helps me feel empathetic towards gays in the South. And there is a major problem when someone is being taken off of a show because his viewpoints do not match up with the media's (and this is even worse considering this show is not aimed at the LGBT community AT ALL). It is just sad when we live in a world where tolerance is pushed in favor of some people instead of all people.
