I meant it doesn't even levitate, unless that was your attempt at humor?

Congrats, gotta say it is a nice looking set. Though the specs may not be the best compared to a lot of what is available now. If it makes you happy that's all that matters. Enjoy.

Thank you for the compliment. I'll wait a few years for oled tv to become cheap enough to be a viable option to purchase. An LG oled tv is just as much as my new tv was new, over $5000

Resist obsolesence. Technology will always serve a purpose even if they are older, and slower. As long as that piece of technology still serves its purpose, why upgrade?

TBH yes it does because this television is rare and I can turn around and sell it for $700-$1000 which it goes for on amazon and ebay. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-HL-P5085W-Widescreen-HD-Ready-Television/dp/B0002MLXA2

It being rare is the only reason you could sell it for that much. The tv is old and like I stated earlier it doesn't matter what the price used to be. Everything loses value over time and I think for the most part, tvs do lose a lot more value. Seeing as how they keep making TVs more sleek, slimmer, adding more features, internet ready, apps ready, etc. I think people would buy it because its big. I, like many would rather spend 700-$1000 on a new 1080p 3D Smart TV, which I have.

The only time I'd ever take interest in a new tv is when they become as thin as paper, which I remember Samsung developing that technology. Until then I stay with current gen televisions.
