Lets go fly a kite. Change to culture in Afgan . Can things change ?

Afgan boy flys his kite today. It was banned for a while in his country. Now he can be just like a kid again. I never take it for granted what we have in this great country. I know many kids around the world don't have a good childhood like most of use enjoy. Its sad to see such a simple act of flying a kite can be banned by some cultures. Why must the kids suffer

Someone back in the old old OT used to do a picture of the day. Then BoBoTheMoney would do his animal of the day post. Good times.

I do remember those pic of the day posts they were pretty cool !!!

Why was flying a kite banned in that country?

During the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, kite flying was banned, among various other recreations. The Kandahar-based Taliban regime (which among other puritanical measures banned kite-flying as un-Islamic).
