Patriots Day Bombing (Poem)

7 replies 157 views Edited Apr 16, 2013

Patriot's Day Bombing

One more time the feeling flies
The anger so pungent when an American dies
Who, where, and why we not yet know
But if we find its time to ride I'll be the first to go

It was over a decades ago when I first geared up
When I asked for that leave of absence I was just a young pup
It was worth every second of that 4 years of hell
To know my fellow countrymen were home safe and well

Now that I see what I see on my screen
Its no 9/11 but I can't help but think thoughts that are mean
I'm not as young as I once was but I'm not too far on in years
The emotions coming back have dragged me to tears.

I know myself well and this feeling will lead to fight
I should just relax and maybe write a bit tonight
For its better to let the thoughts flow from a pen
Then to use force to release them once again.

This poem is about the bombing in Boston yesterday, April 15 2013.   For us here in Massachussettes yesterday is a special holiday called Patriots Day http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriots%27_Day.     I sometimes write when something bothers me, it helps calm me down.

Where's that **bleep** rating system when you need it, they really should bring it back!

Just so you know if it were still here I'd be rating posts 1 & 2, one would get 5 stars the other 1 star, guess which one would be getting 1 star!!!!!

Today is the anniversarry of the Domestic Terror attack in Boston.  Just didn't want to make a new thread to bring it up so I used my older one.

There are a lot of politicians in town today getting some face time via the anniversarry of the terror attack.
