Portrayal of women.

79 replies 501 views Edited Feb 25, 2014
The Portrayal of women in games is mostly just as an sexual object. Games with women in lead roles are barely made. I am a guy, but i still find this thing a bit disturbing.
There is just really few games in which women actually have some important part in the story, apart from showing deep clevages.
I barely care what's the gender of the character i am playing. I'll rather like to play some TLoU entirely from ellies point of view.
It disturbs me more when i think of it in a way that my sister or (maybe sometime in future) daughter is just a sexual object.

Yes, it is sad to say that most women that are displayed into today's games are viewed only as sexual objects.  If Sony ever denied that, that's bull lie.

I mean, look at Need For Speed Carbon.  Great game, story line was awesome.  The two girls who were featured in that game and real people, in real life, are hot.  So hot, I had to look them up on Google who they were and where they came from.

DAT ARMOR, you can see every screw and rivet.

Ya...

There are plenty of games that do not fit that stereotype... but then again, I'm also not "disturbed" by attractive women.

Fun fact, SONY has nothing to do with most of the games that are released from a developing standpoint.

Fighting games are the worst offenders. Pretty much every female in MK is fighting in heels with strips of clothing, and Ivy from SC is literally fighting in threads.
