Re: REMEMBERING THE 90'S....

[ Edited ]

The 90's was my favorite decade. Did anyone mention Tiny Toons or Animaniacs yet? Those were also good cartoons. The music back then was also great. I also had fun with the video games on the SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, 3DO, and last but not least the PS1. I also used to spend countless time and quarters at the arcades. I also got the Dreamcast in '99 too. I had a lot of fun with that system and I was really sad to see it die off a couple years later. But yeah I had a lot of fun in the 90's. And if I could go back in time and re-live that decade, I definitely would.

90s rock!! Some of the last good pop music came out of the 90s

Anyone ever make a mix tape?

Might disagree with you there. As a whole, the 90s was a pretty poor era of music. Not to say there wasn't some cool stuff. Some of the better grunge like Alice in Chains, a few interesting Alt Rock bands like Sonic Youth and some random stuff like Sublime or gangsta rap like Wu-Tang  was cool. However we also had to deal with countless boy bands, the dawn of the modern pop-diva, terrible "Nu Metal" that was a complete abomination to the Metal scene (I'm bitter).

Don't you hate when somebody born in '98-'99 claims they grew up in the 90's? Posers.

And kudos to KZM for posting one of the best themes ever created for a cartoon. But I'm pretty sure that theme came out in the early 2000's.

I find it hilarious when people say that.

Re: REMEMBERING THE 90'S....

I was born in 83, so I remember it quite well.

Back to the music thing, as I said in general the 90s had pretty crappy music IMO, but there were some decent moments. Red Hot Chillie Peppers are not really my thing, but their stuff in the 90s was far better than later efforts.

Also White Zombie was decent before Rob Zombie went solo and became crap, and early Marilyn Manson was pretty good, especially Anti-Christ Superstar. Outside of that you had to look for some obscure stuff (IMO, once again) for anything REALLY good, like KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, Switchblade Symphony... But at this point I'm name dropping stuff that was just in a niche of my tastes.

Regardless of your preference though, still stand by my opinion due to the existence of crap like Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Hanson, Limp Bizcuit, Vanilla Ice and so on and so on.

I love JRPGs, but hate anime... Is that legal?

I enjoyed reading this. The 90s really were an awesome decade. I wish I can re-live all those moments again.

I was born in '82 and my closest brother was born in '80. We both always talk about how we loved the 80's more, even though we went ages 8-17 and 10-19 in the 90's. As little kids in the 80's, we were introduced to great music, movies, and video games. So, I think that is why that decade is closest to our hearts.

But, yes, I agree. Now that it's 2014, in hindsight, we had a lot going for us in the 90's as well.
