Disney's Treasure Planet and Disney's Atlantis. (if we are still sticking with Disney here)

Both are two very great movies that Disney has not even acknowledged.

I think part of the reason for that is Atlantis is not a traditional Disney film, with big musical numbrs and cute characters. They tried to go for an action-adventure style film. Treasure Planet received good reviews overall, but it was peformed abysmally at the box office.

Disney was on a HUGE roll in the mid 90's with The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty And The Beast, and The Little Mermaid. Suddenly you have this change of direction, and it probably caught a lot of people off guard.

True. There was also another movie made by Disney called The Black Cauldron. I did like that film.... but unlike most Disney films, this one was very dark and violent (for a kids movie). And I think that's what turned many critics away

^Wow, I can't believe I never heard of those movies. Near Dark seems really interesting. I guess I'll be busy catching up on those movies :robothappy:

Good call on this one HG. I don't think many people know about this movie. Very underrated IMO. Bill Paxton rules!

Second Hand Lions!   For real I didn't even intend to see this, it was on Christams day 2 years ago when I went to see my Mom, and we ended up watching the whole thing.  We both loved it.

Loved that movie. I got paid to dryrun it when I was an assistant manager / head projectionist at a movie theatre. It was one I would have gladly paid to see off work.

If your talking about underrated movies, basically any classic Van Damme movie can be added to that list, though for some they find his movies stupid, boring and just down right lame, i find them entertaining. I have seen every film he has made to date.

Hard Target was one of my favorites

No Country for Old Men was really good as well. But was it underrated? That's what I heard

Hmmm... not sure that one is really underrated considering that it won four Oscars  :smileywink:  including Best Picture. Good movie though.
