I didn't love EG, but I liked it. It seems the entire fandom is shocked or a bit surprised at how decent it was. It basically was a slightly extended season premiere told in human form with some twists here and there. The music though was absolutely fabulous, definitely a huge positive. It also lets me know that S4 will have some good music. Overall, I enjoyed it and would not mind watching it again.
Have yet to see EG; will watch once a decent stream comes out though if I remember.
Also @Juan; love the clean drawing style. Very similar to the show in that aspect.
Been rewatching some episodes, and recently hit "Putting Your Hoof Down" (The Assertive Iron Will one),
and was suprised how much I enjoyed it. I know that a lot of people give it flack for not showing much
continunity (plot issues), but it is an enjoyable episode. The remarks Fluttershy makes towards
Pinkie Pie and Rarity are actually deep thoughtwise and hurtful, like suprisingly so considering the young girl demographic.
The art of them crying is actually sad and believable in a way. IMage below; take note of Rarity biting her bottom lip.
Checked the writer of the episode, and then I was suprised that is essentially one of the not-so-good ones for MLP.
Writer of the Dragon Quest (ugghhhhh) episode. So yeah, either I like this episode due to the premise and the writing just worked,
or it was just a fluke because the her other episodes are pretty mediocre in my opinion.
@Raichu: Well, considering EQG is made by DHX Media and written by Meghan McCarthy ( Party of One, Lesson Zero, A Canterlot Wedding ect. ) there's no way the product can be a total disaster. A lot of us are very strongly against the idea of EQG. It could actually be something decent if you watch it open-minded. I'm willing to give it a fair chance because many have had positive feelings towards the movie.
I already listened some of it's music and I gotta say the pop music ain't my cup of coffee. The songs were catchy yet forgettable. MLP music is different because Modern High School and Equestria are so different places. Anyhow Daniel Ingram still works on S4 so rest assured, the music will be good.
