I have a cat but when I do get a dog, it'll be a siberian husky!

Say NO to small dogs.  You're better off with a cat.  Small dogs are like an overgrown rat.  Most likely for the low self-esteem.

My favorite dog breed is husky.  I'm hating myself for passing up a pure breed Siberian husky puppie on craigslist a few weeks ago for $600.  I still don't know if my landlord allows dogs in my apartment lol.

Rat terrier, because they eat less than me. And they prefer to chase squirrels, rabbits, and cats instead of cars.

I have had a rat terrier for the past 13 years and she is still healhy and spry. My first little dog too. Like a lot of people, I had a poor impression of little dogs, but after getting Anubis (my rat terrier) I must say my entire view point has changed. She is an excellent companion and so portable. That little dog has been everywhere with me. I've taken her splunking, rock climbing, rafting, you name it.

Still, my favorite breed is a Samoyed. They aren't the sharpest tool in the shed but they are loyal, strong and friendly, almost to a fault. Here are a few pics of my dogs:

First up is Lunar:

Then you have Anubis:

I personally prefer mutts. They don't cost a fortune, you can rescue them from shelters, and they (generally) have longer life spans than pure breds.

I've had two mutts: a lab/collie mix (unforunately died a couple years back at 17 years old) and I now have an Italian greyhound/lab mix who is about 4 years old.

On a side note, I hate cats. Partially because I'm allergic to them and also because I haven't found one cat that doesn't shed like crazy.

Labradors would be my favorite, probably because they're the breed I've been around the most

Mutts tend to be healthier, in the long run, than pure breeds as well.
